Ian Bogost

In my view, the Ian Bogost talk was a mixture of positive and negative experiences. While I found the material of the talk itself difficult to comprehend, I thought that the venue was very architecturally intriguing, and I enjoyed getting to know my fellow classmates on the journey. The National Humanities Center, which is tucked away in a patch of woodland off TW Alexander Drive, is an unconventionally shaped building, whose stark white exterior contrasts heavily with its natural woodland surroundings. Inside, the wide windows offer a scenic view, and the large planter in the middle of the floor also emphasizes the natural setting.

Furthermore, the journey to the National Humanities Center offered us time to get to know one another, as we discussed our majors, music, and food. I enjoyed speaking to my classmates in this new context, as it allowed us to get to know one another better outside of the classroom.
